I'm going to take all elimination diet posts onto a filter so the rest of you don't get spammed by them. If you want to be on the filter, let me know.
First question -- what is a good non-dairy, non-soy substitute for yogurt? I need something that I can use as a creamy-ish base for (non-wheat) cereals and pasta sauce. All the rice/nut milks are too thin.

Yeah, coconut is good. Also, it's easy to make your own nut milks and a lot healthier (and cheaper) than what you buy at the store. And you can adjust the thickness to what you want when you make it yourself.
Remember that neither of those options has the calcium though, and you will need to give some thought to how you are getting calcium in your diet.

Date: 2009-08-13 06:01 am (UTC)Fish that you eat with bones like sardines and anchovies are really good sources of calcium. Also, dark green vegetables like spinach and collard greens are very good. Vegetable calcium is not absorbed as easily as the calcium in milk typically, so you need more of it.
