How to relive your childhood
Mar. 16th, 2008 07:44 pmAny little TV clip of even mild interest is now on YouTube now.
When I was a small child, I remember seeing a music video on Sesame Street called "Cereal Girl". It was a parody of Madonna's Material Girl, but I didn't know it at the time. (I was about 5). I found it again a few weeks ago -- it was stunning to see something I hadn't seen in over 20 years. Doing that sort of thing tickles neural pathways that haven't been touched in ages, and gives you a very strange sensation.
For you this may mean nothing, but perhaps there's some other memory of TV from deep in your past that you can now quickly dig up.
(Oh, and the whole point of Sesame Street doing this sort of thing is to encourage parents to watch TV with their kids. They found that getting parents engaged with their kids had a bigger impact on their program's educational power than anything else they could do.)
