I'm now on my second full day of 102deg fever. What's annoying is that I can't just sleep thrugh the whole thing. I'm too awake to sleep, but too feverish to do much of anything useful. I've been listening to lots of podcasts and reading a book on Plato, but my attention and memory abilities are kind of limited at the moment.
It's amazing how being sick remaps my motivations. Things that seemed urgent before no longer seem relevant/ Perspective shifts, and I end up thinking about things far in the very long term and taking actions in the very short term.
Apparently the death risk ffrom swine flu worldwide is only about 0.4%, and that includes countries with very poor medical systems. Apparently the death risk for any flu worldwide is about the same. SO swine flu isn't any more dangerous than other flus, it's just more widespread. (Note that I don't know if this is swine flu or just a regular flu).
