Dec. 11th, 2006 12:52 amBack in the 1940s, some people built a computer that ran on colored water and used pumps and drains to simulate a national economy. Real economists used it to see the effect of changing things like the tax rate etc.
I'm sure it seemed really impressive at the time, but looking back it's painful to see how hard people had to work with such limited tools.
