In a dark corner of wikipedialand

So I know that this was probably done by a script, but the fact that there's a set of wikipedia pages covering all known TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) is monumental yet sad. The human effort put into growing and tending the wikipedia garden is nothing short of amazing.

Invention of the email smiley in 1982 :-)

It may have been invented several times, but this is the first documented instance.

The smiley was invented because of an email thread involving a joke about playing with fire and mercury in an elevator. Closed captioned for the humor impaired.
