This is the convex polygon that encloses every place I've been to.
I've visited many places inside the polygon (Japan, Korea etc) but the vertices of the polygon are the furthest-out places I've been to.

The red area represents my current travel polygon. The purple area represents my travel polygon as of 10 years ago. Methinks Cairo and Dubai would make nice additions.

What does yours look like? If you're one of those lucky people who's traveled around the world, you get to figure out how to deal with the whole "earth is round" problem in constructing your polygon.

To make yours, just go to google maps, take a screen grab, and then edit it in your favorite paint program.

Hm. There's got to be a way to accomplish this in an automated fashion using php/asp/whatnot and the Google maps APIs... Maybe I should try to propagate the meme and sic Gordon (of LolCat BuildR fame) on it...

That would be awesome. I'm sure it would be easy to automate, but it would make sense to make the meme popular first.

(otherwise, people would have, upon seeing lolcat buildr, "why would I want to add a caption to a picture with a cat in it, with so few choices of font?")

By the way, is this the Gordon who went to Stanford with me? Big gamer guy? McNaughton?
