Car ad up on craigslist
Oct. 19th, 2010 10:47 amThe original buyer was unable to buy my old car (she switched jobs and needs to conserve $).
So now it's up on Craigslist. Let me know if it's of interest to you or anyone you know!

Nothing makes an old, reliable car sexy like a worldwide economic recession! Want to explore the vast world beyond the confines of downtown San Francisco's public transit? Want to see far-off sites like Big Sur, Mendocino, even Yosemite? You'll need one of these car things! Sure this one's old, but it was made during the golden age of Japanese cars that just last forever. The car is rock solid dependable. It also was lucky enough to be owned by some well-mannered middle aged guy instead of being turned into a rice rocket. It's got plenty of scratches and battle scars, which is good if you'll be parking it on the rough streets of San Francisco, where inexperienced parallel parkers will graze the bumpers on a regular basis. That way when someone dings your car, you *just won't care* and can get on with your day. It's so liberating!
Details:
- 1993 Honda Civic EX, 4dr, automatic transmission (good for those hills), 196,000 miles
What's right:
- Engine, transmission, electrical system, body, all the important stuff.
- I paid for the big important timing belt replacement
- No accidents.
- Car is simple and very reliable. Good gas mileage.
- Complete records going back to the first owner.
- Its small size makes city parking fairly easy. Laugh as full sized cars pull past spots you can glide into.
What's wrong:
- A/C does not work but could be repaired.
- Sunroof had a leak which I have fixed with Gorilla tape. The sunroof is now a sunwindow.
- Lots of dents and scratches on the exterior. But hey, if you live in San Francisco and park on the street, you'll get those scratches anyway, so you might as well save money by purchasing a pre-scratched car!
- CD player no longer plays CDs... but it has an Aux in, which is really all you need these days seeing as how everyone has mp3 players
More details and records available on request. The vinyl "Yes" can be kept or removed as you see fit. It does make the car easier to spot in a lineup of other white cars, at least until you memorize the Rorshach pattern of scratches on the tail.
