I've been having all kinds of fun with the Techshop laser cutter recently.  The laser cutter can automatically cut or engrave any shape you want onto any material that's not too thick and doesn't emit poisonous fumes when heated. 

This of course opens up the possibility of making all kinds of intricate shapes that would ordinarily be too difficult to cut.

I used fractal software to create some interesting fractals, and then used the laser cutter to cut them out.  Now I have some nice wall hangings.

I also turned the laser power way down and used it to engrave some jeans.

Thanks! It took a lot of tries to get it right. Fortunately I bought some $7 jeans at a thrift store first, so all the laser burn marks and holes are on them instead of the good jeans.
